Choose Semrush Local when…
A directly per-location Semrush toolkit with GBP automation, map-rank tracking and Pro listing/review workflows fits the job.
Neither is a universal winner. Semrush Local fits a directly per-business-location GBP, map-rank, listing and review workflow. Local Dominator fits buyers centered on GeoGrid scans, GBP management, listings/citations and broader local/AI visibility inside a credit-based platform. Local Dominator's own current pages disagree on some Advanced/Pro limits, so capacity-sensitive buyers should verify those limits before purchase.
AlreadyChecked Verdict
Semrush Local gives each business location a defined local toolkit. Local Dominator uses subscription and scan-credit capacity across GeoGrid, GBP, listings/citations and AI/local visibility functions—but its current first-party pages disagree on important Advanced/Pro limits.
| Choice | Best for | Current cost | Biggest advantage | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Direct per-location toolkit Semrush Local | GBP automation, map-rank tracking and—on Pro—listing/review workflows purchased directly per business location. | Base $30/month per location billed annually; Pro $60/month per location billed annually. | Simple per-business-location purchase model inside the Semrush ecosystem. | Semrush Map Rank Tracker credits are not equivalent to Local Dominator scan points or rolling-credit allowances. |
| Credit-based local / AI platform Local Dominator | GeoGrid scans, GBP management, listings/citations and broader local/AI visibility. | $39 month-to-month Lite; $59 month-to-month Advanced; $97 month-to-month Pro; $197 month-to-month Powerhouse; $399 month-to-month Enterprise. | Broad local operations plus scan-based GeoGrid capacity inside one credit platform. | Advanced/Pro credit and GBP capacities conflict across current first-party pages; exact capacity must be verified before a capacity-sensitive purchase. |

Local Dominator's annual-equivalent figures are not month-to-month prices. Current product pages advertise two months free with annual billing.
A current Local Dominator subscription-help page lists 15,000 credits / 15 GBP connections for Advanced and 36,000 / 25 for Pro. Other current Local Dominator feature pages display Advanced at 10,000 / 5 and Pro at 30,000 / 20.
AlreadyChecked does not silently pick one table. The headline plan prices are consistent across the checked material, but the Advanced/Pro capacity limits should be refreshed directly before a purchase that depends on an exact credit or GBP count.
Local Dominator says one credit corresponds to one scan point. A current first-scan guide says a 9×9 GeoGrid uses 81 credits, one per data point. An older Local Dominator credit-system help article contains a conflicting 64-credit 9×9 example while also saying one credit equals one scan point.
We preserve that discrepancy rather than promoting the older 64-credit example as definitive. Local Dominator scan credits are also not numerically interchangeable with Semrush Map Rank Tracker credits.
Current Local Dominator material covers GeoGrid/Google Maps scans, GBP management, listing management/builder, review workflows, SERP tracking, AI visibility, site audit, keyword/prompt research and agency features. Semrush Local is sold directly per business location and centers GBP automation, map-rank credits and, on Pro, listing and review management. Raw feature or credit counts do not prove better rankings, leads or revenue.
Current Local Dominator plan help says rolling credits are available on Pro and higher. Current terms tie rolling-credit retention to an active account in good standing and say accumulated rolling credits can be forfeited after inactive status caused by consecutive missed payments.
Separately purchased one-time credit packages are described as non-refundable, expiring after 12 months and usable only while an active paid subscription is maintained. That clause should not be generalized into a universal refund rule for every recurring subscription payment.
Local Dominator currently advertises a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. Semrush Local also currently advertises a 7-day trial. Equal duration does not establish identical trial access, conversion or billing behavior.
Local Dominator says a subscription can be canceled through account/Stripe billing and access continues until the end of the current billing cycle. Current plan help says maps, scan history and reports are saved after inactivity and restored if the subscription is reactivated.
Citations Builder material separately says built/claimed listings remain customer-owned after cancellation, while ongoing monitoring, duplicate suppression and instant updates still require an active subscription. That listings statement does not mean every Local Dominator feature remains active after cancellation.
Local Dominator's current Partner Program advertises 25% recurring commission for life, a 60-day cookie, monthly payouts and a $100 payout threshold. Current affiliate terms require tracked registration through the unique referral link or documented pre-approval before signup and reject retroactive commission requests.
The newer partner page says payouts can use PayPal or wire, while older affiliate terms mention PayPal or Payoneer when PayPal is unavailable. AlreadyChecked does not silently resolve that first-party payout-method discrepancy into one universal non-PayPal method.
Public partner availability also does not prove AlreadyChecked enrollment, approval, an issued referral link, attribution or payout custody. This comparison therefore has no project-controlled Local Dominator affiliate destination.
A directly per-location Semrush toolkit with GBP automation, map-rank tracking and Pro listing/review workflows fits the job.
GeoGrid scanning, GBP management, listings/citations and broader local/AI visibility inside a scan-credit platform are the operating center.
Your decision depends on exact Advanced/Pro credit or GBP limits because current first-party pages conflict.
Semrush credits, Local Dominator scan credits/points, GBP connections, rolling-credit allowances and broader feature counts are not interchangeable units. Current Local Dominator capacity and scan-cost discrepancies remain visible rather than being guessed away.
Trust boundary: This page has no project-controlled Local Dominator affiliate destination.
