Local rank software comparison

Semrush Local vs Local Falcon: which local rank tool is better?

Neither is a universal winner. Semrush Local fits a broader per-location local SEO workflow with GBP automation, map-rank tracking and Pro-tier listing/review management. Local Falcon fits geo-grid local rank and AI-visibility scanning where usage scales through map-pin credits. Compare the scans you actually intend to run, not headline price or raw credit totals.

AlreadyChecked Verdict

Choose Semrush Local for a broader per-location local SEO stack; choose Local Falcon when geo-grid scanning and usage-based map-pin credits are the core workflow.

Semrush Local packages GBP automation and map-rank tracking, with Pro adding listings and review workflows. Local Falcon specializes in geo-grid rank and AI-visibility scanning whose real cost depends on grid size, keywords, locations, scan frequency and optional AI analysis.

Best for you if… you model the scans you will actually run and keep Semrush credits separate from Local Falcon map-pin credits instead of treating raw credit totals as comparable value.

Local Falcon defines one credit as one geo-grid data point or map pin. A 5x5 scan uses 25 credits before other credit-consuming additions. That is not the same unit as a Semrush Local Map Rank Tracker credit.

Use the live Local Falcon pricing table for exact package quantities

The current live pricing table exposes Basic at 15,150 credits, while a June 2026 Local Falcon first-party pricing guide rounds Basic to 15,000. AlreadyChecked uses the live pricing table for the buyer-facing package quantity and preserves the supporting-page discrepancy rather than mixing or averaging the counts.

Credit expiration changes the real Local Falcon cost

Monthly package credits expire at the end of the monthly billing cycle. Annual-package credits remain available through the annual billing cycle. Individually purchased or pay-as-you-go credits do not expire. Current pay-as-you-go pricing is $0.05 per credit, and Falcon AI analysis currently costs 25 credits per report.

The evaluation models are different

Local Falcon currently gives new accounts 100 free credits and says no credit card is needed. That is a usage-limited credit evaluation, not a fixed-duration unlimited trial. Semrush Local currently advertises a 7-day free trial.

Canceling Local Falcon does not mean every billing control disappears

Local Falcon's current terms say paid subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before renewal and payments are generally non-refundable. Its cancellation guidance says package credits remain usable through the billing cycle, then the recurring package ends and the account downgrades to pay-as-you-go. Individually purchased credits remain. The payment method may remain on file to support Auto Scans, and disabling Auto Recharge/payment-method retention is a separate control.

API access is not one universal entitlement

Local Falcon provides data-retrieval API access with qualifying subscriptions, while its on-demand API is separately priced at $199/month plus request usage fees. Do not assume every plan includes every API or integration on identical terms.

Public partner signup is not AlreadyChecked approval

Local Falcon currently publishes partner signup advertising 10% commission for the first month and 5% recurring thereafter. That public program does not establish AlreadyChecked enrollment, approved tracking links, cookie attribution or payout custody, so no Local Falcon merchant handoff appears on this comparison.

Which route fits your actual workflow?

Choose Semrush Local when…

GBP automation, map-rank tracking and broader local listing/review workflows should live inside one per-location toolkit.

Choose Local Falcon when…

Geo-grid local rank and AI-visibility scanning are the primary job and a map-pin credit model maps cleanly to your workload.

Calculate usage first when…

You run larger grids, many keywords or frequent scans. Those choices multiply Local Falcon credit consumption quickly.

Important limitations

Semrush Local credits and Local Falcon map-pin credits are not interchangeable. Raw credit totals, grid dimensions, scan frequency, keywords or locations do not prove better data quality or ranking outcomes. Current first-party Local Falcon surfaces also differ slightly on the Basic credit count, so the live pricing table is the buyer-facing authority used here.
