Best for you if… you decide whether focused opportunity curation or a broader mix of hosted jobs, external search, applications and payment tooling solves more of your workflow.

No universal winner. Twine now spans both hosted jobs and external-web discovery, but Ari does not apply for you and Twine does not guarantee Engagements.

At a glance

SolidGigs

Current cost: 14-day free trial, then $35/month or $350/year.

Model: curated external opportunities; downstream transaction stays with source/client.

Twine

Starter: free with 1 Twine application/day and 3 Ari searches/week.

Pro: current help says from $9.49/month billed yearly or $18.99 monthly.

Model: portfolio + Twine jobs + Ari external-web search + optional Vault/Direct/Bill payments.

Ari makes this comparison closer than a normal marketplace comparison

Ari searches external web jobs and ranks them against the freelancer’s profile. It does not apply on the user’s behalf. External Ari jobs do not consume Twine applications.

Free Ari currently provides 3 searches per week and the top 10 matches per search. Pro unlocks unlimited Ari searches under the current product page.

Twine application limits matter

Current June 2026 help says free members receive 1 application per day, Pro members can send up to 50 per month, and Premium is unlimited. Some popular Twine jobs can reach the free-member application cap and then require Pro.

Use stable Pro pricing—not a countdown promotion

Twine’s June 2026 Freelancer FAQ states Pro is available from $9.49/month billed yearly or $18.99 monthly. The live pricing page can show limited-time annual promotions with countdowns, so we do not freeze those promotional totals as stable list pricing.

Client service fees are not freelancer service fees

Current Twine client/pricing guidance says the client-side service fee is 10% on payments up to $10,000 and 5% on payments over $10,000. That charge belongs to the client side and should not be mislabeled as a freelancer fee.

Freelancer payout transaction fees on free accounts depend on payout method. Current help lists examples such as $2 US bank, 6% PayPal, and $10 + 3% international wire for USD jobs. Twine says Pro members currently pay no Twine transaction fees for listed payout methods; third-party fees/taxes are a separate question.

Vault, Direct and Bill are different payment modes

Vault: funds are held and released with client approval, and current help says they auto-release after 90 days if not released manually first. That is not a guarantee of every project or dispute outcome.

Direct: Twine releases the payment immediately, but current payment-type guidance says processing typically takes up to 14 days. Immediate release is not the same as guaranteed instant bank settlement.

Bill: a freelancer-generated bill is paid as a Direct payment.

Twine does not promise a job—or vet every Buyer for suitability

Twine’s current Platform Terms dated August 7, 2026 say it is not obligated to provide a Seller an Engagement and does not conduct Buyer suitability checks for an Engagement. They also say Twine is not a party to the Buyer/Seller contract.

Twine’s current dispute help calls Twine a facilitator, not a mediator, and says dispute resolution largely depends on mutual agreement and cancellation rules. “Secure payment” language therefore should not be read as a universal payment or dispute guarantee.

Which fits you?

I already have portfolio, sales and payment systems

SolidGigs fits better when the remaining bottleneck is dedicated external lead discovery.

I want one broader freelance operating channel

Twine fits better when portfolio, hosted jobs, Ari search, applications and optional payment tooling matter together.

I want automatic applications

Ari is not that product: current Twine guidance says it finds and ranks jobs; you choose and apply.

I need guaranteed payment or guaranteed client quality

Neither comparison supports that promise. Read Twine’s current contract/dispute boundaries and the downstream rules for SolidGigs leads.
