SolidGigs vs Indeed: paid freelance leads or free broad job search?

Start with Indeed when your main goal is broad employment, contract or remote job discovery and you want a free core search/application baseline. Start with SolidGigs when your main goal is independent freelance client/project acquisition and paying for cross-source lead curation saves enough prospecting time to justify the subscription. Neither is a universal winner.

AlreadyChecked Verdict

No universal winner: use Indeed for broad job search, SolidGigs for freelance-client prospecting.

Indeed is the free broad employment, contract and remote-search baseline. SolidGigs fits freelancers who already know how to pitch and are paying specifically to reduce cross-source client/project lead hunting.

What you are actually comparing

SolidGigs

Current price: 14-day free trial, then $35/month or $350/year on the checked first-party pricing surface.

Model: paid freelance client/project lead generation and curation across multiple sources; matched leads route back to the original source to pitch.

Indeed

Current core job-seeker access: Indeed says job seekers can search for jobs, create an account and apply for jobs on Indeed for free; some tools or features vary by location or eligibility.

Model: broad employment, contract and remote job discovery with filters, profiles, recommendations and application tools.

Pick SolidGigs when freelance client lead hunting is the bottleneck

SolidGigs currently advertises a 14-day free trial, $35 monthly access and $350 annual billing displayed as roughly a $29/month equivalent. It describes a paid lead-generation workflow that searches multiple sources, sends matched gigs to the user's dashboard/email and routes the freelancer to the original source to pitch. SolidGigs says it does not take a percentage of client pay.

Its current Terms require cancellation before the 14-day trial ends to avoid the selected-plan charge and do not guarantee refunds or prorated adjustments for late cancellation or at another point. Cancel-anytime marketing and refund rights are separate.

Start with Indeed when broad search without a subscription fee is the priority

Indeed currently states that job seekers can search for jobs, create an account and apply for jobs on Indeed for free. Its broad job-search tools include work-setting and job-type filters, profiles, recommendations, application tracking and other search resources. That makes Indeed a practical baseline when your goal is employment, contract or remote work rather than freelance-client prospecting.

Indeed's safety tools are useful—but they are not a universal screening guarantee

Indeed's current job-seeker safety guidance says it blocks harmful content and provides tools to recognize, report and avoid scams. Its controlling Terms also say Indeed cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, legality, reliability, legitimacy, truthfulness or availability of user content, cannot guarantee Employer or User identity, and has no obligation to screen any Job Ads.

AlreadyChecked therefore treats Indeed's safety systems as documented provider controls—not proof that every listing, employer, recruiter or contact is independently verified, current or scam-free.

Remote does not mean work from anywhere

Indeed's current remote-job guidance says some remote roles remain tied to a specific city, state or country. Company policies, laws and tax rules can also restrict where work may be performed. Sponsorship, work authorization, licensing, schedule and employer-specific eligibility still matter. Verify the actual location requirements on each role.

Applications can leave Indeed's control

Indeed's Terms say Employers—not Indeed—control qualifications, hiring decisions and many application processes. Employers may use applicant-tracking systems that Indeed does not control, and Indeed Apply can also be provided through employers, ATSs, agencies or approved third parties. Once your information reaches another organization or system, that destination's privacy, security, retention and hiring terms matter too.

Profile visibility can outlive a later privacy change

Indeed lets job seekers choose whether employers can find their profile. Current help says new profiles are initially treated as Employers can't find you until a choice is made. If you choose searchable visibility, resume and profile information can be exposed to employers. Indeed also warns that search engines or other third parties may copy a searchable profile and that changing privacy later does not undo prior applications or necessarily remove copies already retained elsewhere.

Apply For Me is automation—not a hiring guarantee

Indeed's current Terms describe an Apply For Me beta for eligible users in the United States or Canada who are 18 or older. The tool may auto-submit applications and use AI-generated answers based on profile information and prior responses. Indeed says users remain responsible for accuracy, AI output is not guaranteed to be accurate, and the tool does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment or employer response.

Indeed's general job-seeker guidelines separately prohibit third-party bots or automated tools for applying. A provider-authorized Indeed feature is therefore not permission to use arbitrary third-party application automation.

Labels, estimates and platform scale do not settle the comparison

Indeed's Terms treat Job Ads as advertising and disclaim guarantees about their accuracy, completeness, legality, reliability, legitimacy, truthfulness, availability and Employer identity. Search filters, labels, badges, salary estimates, dynamic inventory and platform scale can be useful context, but they are not independently normalized proof that Indeed has universally better opportunities than SolidGigs for a freelancer trying to win clients.

Customer reviews are context, not a forecast

Indeed has a very large current Trustpilot sample with many complaints about relevance, support, suspicious contacts, listing quality and outcomes alongside some positive job-discovery experiences. SolidGigs has a much smaller mixed sample with positive lead/support reports and some billing or cancellation complaints. Neither review set can predict your own opportunity quality, billing experience, client results, interviews or hiring outcome.

Which one fits your situation?

Pick SolidGigs when…

  • You are specifically pursuing freelance clients or projects rather than a conventional employment search.
  • You already know what service you sell and how to evaluate and pitch leads.
  • You want curation across multiple sources to reduce repetitive prospecting.
  • Saving that time can justify $35 monthly or $350 annually.

Start with Indeed when…

  • Your primary goal is employment, contract or remote-job discovery.
  • You want a broad free core search/application baseline.
  • You are comfortable verifying listings, employers and external application destinations yourself.
  • You will confirm geography, sponsorship, work-authorization and employer-specific requirements on remote roles.
  • You understand profile visibility and downstream data-sharing boundaries.

Use both only when both acquisition paths are active

If you genuinely pursue freelance clients and employment or contract roles at the same time, evaluate the services separately. Measure SolidGigs by relevant client/project leads and prospecting time saved. Measure Indeed by usable job matches, application quality and search time. Paying for SolidGigs should solve a distinct freelance-client bottleneck rather than duplicate a broad search you already perform for free.
