SolidGigs vs Glassdoor: paid freelance leads or free employment research?
Start with Glassdoor when your main goal is employment discovery and you want a free baseline combining jobs with company reviews, salary context and workplace information. Start with SolidGigs when your main goal is independent freelance client/project acquisition and paying for cross-source lead curation saves enough prospecting time to justify the subscription. Neither is a universal winner.
AlreadyChecked Verdict
No universal winner: use Glassdoor for employment research, SolidGigs for freelance-client prospecting.
Glassdoor is the free employment-search and workplace-research baseline. SolidGigs fits freelancers paying specifically to reduce cross-source client/project lead hunting.
Best for you if… you choose by decision type first: researching employers and jobs versus finding freelance clients to pitch.

What you are actually comparing
SolidGigs
Current price: 14-day free trial, then $35/month or $350/year on the checked first-party pricing surface.
Model: paid freelance client/project lead generation and curation across multiple sources; matched leads route back to the original source to pitch.
Glassdoor
Current baseline: Glassdoor says job seekers do not pay for job matching, company reviews, salary information or its anonymous community.
Model: free employment search plus company reviews, salary context and workplace information, with current job/application features integrated with Indeed services.
The work relationship matters more than the price
SolidGigs is primarily about finding prospective freelance clients or projects so you can evaluate a lead and pitch the original source. Glassdoor is primarily about employment search and employer research. Glassdoor can include contractor or freelance-related workplace content, but that does not make it a direct substitute for a paid freelance-client prospecting service.
Glassdoor moderation is meaningful—but it is not universal fact verification
Glassdoor describes a multi-layered review-authenticity process using account validation, technology, algorithms and human moderation. It also says employers cannot pay to remove negative reviews and that fraudulent or policy-violating content can be removed.
Those controls matter. But Glassdoor also says it cannot fully confirm every user's identity, complete truthfulness or exact employment status and generally does not act as a fact-checker in factual disputes. Its current Terms separately disclaim guarantees about the accuracy, currency, suitability, reliability or quality of third-party content. AlreadyChecked therefore treats reviews as useful workplace evidence to evaluate—not independently verified fact in every case.
Salary context is useful—but it is not a guaranteed offer
Glassdoor provides salary information and uses workplace-pay context as part of its decision experience. Its current Terms place salary-related information within broader third-party-content accuracy and reliability disclaimers.
That makes salary information valuable context for research and negotiation, but not a guaranteed final salary, total compensation package, bonus, equity, benefits package or employer commitment. Verify compensation directly with the employer before making a decision.
Applications can leave Glassdoor's direct control
Current Glassdoor Terms say job applications made through Glassdoor use Indeed services. Glassdoor and its affiliates cannot guarantee that a third-party employer properly receives or logs an application. The Terms also say Glassdoor does not guarantee employer identity or job-offer validity and advises users to verify offers and exercise caution.
That means search and application convenience are workflow features—not guarantees of receipt, employer review, response, interview, offer or employment.
Remote search does not mean work from anywhere
Glassdoor supports location and remote job search. A remote label or remote search result does not establish universal country, state, city, timezone, sponsorship, work-authorization, tax, licensing, schedule or employer-location eligibility. Verify the actual job requirements before applying.
Glassdoor and Indeed profile data can be synchronized
Current Glassdoor Terms say most services require an account and create a Profile. When a user connects or logs in with an Indeed account, Glassdoor and Indeed each receive a complete copy of Profile data and keep it synchronized until either the Glassdoor or Indeed account is deleted.
That convenience should not be described as data remaining only inside Glassdoor. Anonymous and semi-anonymous contributions have separate presentation rules, but connected profile data is explicitly shared across the two services.
Anonymity is strongly protected—but not absolute
Glassdoor strongly defends anonymous reviews and community participation and says it resists attempts to identify reviewers. Its current Terms and trust guidance also acknowledge practical and legal limits: combinations of employer, role, location and content may narrow a person's identity, and a valid court order in rare circumstances can require disclosure.
That is a strong anonymity policy, not an unconditional guarantee that identification is impossible in every situation.
Platform scale does not settle the comparison
Glassdoor publishes large changing counts for jobs, companies, reviews and salary information. Those figures describe platform scale but are provider-controlled and dynamic. They are not independently normalized proof that Glassdoor has better freelance-client opportunities, more accurate reviews, more accurate salaries, safer employers, higher response rates or better outcomes than SolidGigs for your particular goal.
Which one fits your situation?
Pick SolidGigs when…
- You are specifically trying to win freelance clients or projects.
- You already know what service you sell and can evaluate and pitch prospective clients yourself.
- You want paid curation across multiple sources to reduce repetitive prospecting.
- A $35 monthly or $350 annual subscription can be justified by measurable time saved or client-acquisition value.
Start with Glassdoor when…
- Your primary goal is employment discovery rather than freelance-client prospecting.
- You want a free baseline before paying for any discovery service.
- Company reviews and salary context help you decide where to apply.
- You understand that reviews are moderated but not independently fact-checked statement by statement.
- You will verify compensation, employer identity, job-offer validity and remote eligibility yourself.
- You understand how connected Glassdoor/Indeed profiles synchronize data.
Use both only when both acquisition paths are active
If you genuinely pursue freelance clients and employment roles at the same time, evaluate the services separately. Measure SolidGigs by relevant client/project leads and prospecting time saved. Measure Glassdoor by usable employment matches and the decision value of employer/salary context. Paying for SolidGigs should solve a distinct freelance-client bottleneck rather than duplicate a free employment-research workflow.
Important limitations

- SolidGigs pricing and trial terms can change; confirm them before subscribing.

- Glassdoor's free job-seeker baseline is separate from employer-side products and advertising economics.

- Glassdoor Terms disclaim guarantees about third-party job ads, employer information, salary-related information and opinions.
- Salary context does not guarantee final salary or total compensation.
- Applications through Glassdoor/Indeed do not guarantee employer receipt, logging, review or response.
- Glassdoor does not guarantee employer identity or job-offer validity.
- Remote roles can retain location, sponsorship, tax, licensing, schedule and work-authorization limits.
- Connected Glassdoor/Indeed profiles synchronize data across the services.
- Anonymity protections are strong but not absolute in every practical or legal circumstance.
- Provider-controlled job, company, review and salary metrics are not normalized winner evidence.
- No project-controlled Glassdoor destination is proven for this supporting route; affiliate economics do not determine the verdict.

Commercial boundary
Commercial boundary: No project-controlled approved Glassdoor affiliate or referral destination, issued tracking link or attribution/payout custody is proven for this comparison. This supporting route has no direct Glassdoor merchant or affiliate destination. The only governed commercial handoff remains the separate SolidGigs money page, and affiliate economics did not determine this verdict.
AlreadyChecked verdict: No universal winner. Glassdoor is the free employment-search and workplace-research baseline. SolidGigs fits freelancers paying to reduce cross-source client/project lead hunting. Choose by the work relationship you want and whether paid curation solves a measurable prospecting problem.
