SolidGigs vs FlexJobs: which is better for finding work in 2026?

SolidGigs and FlexJobs both charge job seekers or freelancers for a cleaner way to find opportunities, but they solve different problems. SolidGigs is built for freelancers who already run an independent service business and want help finding client leads. FlexJobs is built for people searching a screened database of remote, hybrid, part-time, flexible and freelance jobs.

Quick verdict: choose SolidGigs when you already know how to pitch clients and your bottleneck is finding enough relevant freelance leads. Choose FlexJobs when your primary goal is finding legitimate remote or flexible jobs while reducing exposure to scams, junk listings and unverified employers.

The biggest difference: clients versus jobs

SolidGigs assumes you are already operating like a freelancer. You know what service you sell, what kind of client you want and how to pitch. Its value proposition is to reduce the time spent searching multiple sources for opportunities. When a matching gig appears, SolidGigs sends you toward the original source rather than forcing the client relationship into a marketplace.

FlexJobs assumes you are conducting a job search. Its database includes remote, hybrid, part-time, flexible and freelance roles across more than 50 career categories. FlexJobs says its research team screens listings and employers to remove scams, ads, junk, commission-only roles and MLM opportunities before they appear in the member database.

That means the right choice depends first on the work relationship you want: independent client acquisition or screened job search.

Pricing: FlexJobs costs less to test, but the products are not equivalent

SolidGigs: the current monthly plan is $35/month. The annual plan is $350/year, advertised as a $29/month equivalent, and both currently start with a 14-day free trial. SolidGigs' terms say you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid the selected paid subscription.

FlexJobs: the current entry option is $2.95 for 14-day full access, then $23.95 every four weeks unless cancelled. Its pricing page also currently lists three-month access at $29.85 upfront and annual access at $71.40 upfront.

FlexJobs therefore costs less to sample, but price alone is a poor reason to choose between them. Paying less for the wrong type of opportunity database does not solve the underlying problem.

Which is better for avoiding remote-job scams?

FlexJobs has the stronger fit. Its core product includes screening. FlexJobs says every listing is hand-screened for legitimacy and that suspicious, junk, commission-only and MLM listings are excluded. That is directly relevant to someone whose main fear is wasting time on fake or low-quality work-from-home listings.

SolidGigs is not primarily a scam-screening remote-job board. It is a freelance lead-discovery service. A SolidGigs user still needs to evaluate the client, scope, contract, payment terms and original source before beginning work.

Which is better for an established freelancer?

SolidGigs has the clearer argument when lead discovery is the bottleneck. Its service is specifically designed to search across sources based on rules such as keywords, location and budget, then alert the freelancer to matching opportunities. SolidGigs says it does not take a percentage of client fees.

A freelancer who already has contracts, invoicing, a portfolio and a repeatable pitch may get less value from a general job-search membership than from a product focused narrowly on feeding the lead pipeline.

That does not mean SolidGigs guarantees work. It only addresses the discovery step. The freelancer still has to evaluate, pitch and close the opportunity.

Which is better if you want a salaried remote job?

FlexJobs. Its inventory spans full-time, part-time, remote, hybrid, flexible and freelance roles. The service is structured around finding jobs from vetted employers rather than finding prospective clients for an independent business.

If your actual sentence is “I need a legitimate work-from-home job,” FlexJobs is much closer to that intent than SolidGigs. If your sentence is “I run a freelance business and need more client leads,” SolidGigs is the more precise tool.

Search workflow: curated leads versus screened database

SolidGigs workflow

Set search rules, receive matching freelance opportunities, inspect the lead, then go to the original source to pitch or apply. The service tries to reduce manual prospecting time.

FlexJobs workflow

Search and filter the members-only database, save jobs and companies, create alerts and use job-search resources. The service tries to reduce junk and uncertainty in a remote/flexible job search.

Who should choose SolidGigs?

Who should choose FlexJobs?

Can you use both?

Yes, but only if you are genuinely pursuing both models. A freelancer could use SolidGigs for client leads while also using FlexJobs to look for contract, part-time or remote employment. That becomes wasteful if the two memberships are serving the same vague goal of “find me work.” Give each product a specific job before paying for both.

Our decision

SolidGigs wins for an established freelancer whose problem is lead discovery. FlexJobs wins for a job seeker whose problem is finding legitimate screened remote or flexible opportunities. The products overlap around “finding work,” but the work relationship and search workflow are different enough that neither is the universal winner.
