Goal: stop renewal
Use the subscription cancellation flow. Do not assume that alone closes the account, unpublishes a resume, or deletes data.
No—not automatically under the current public documents. Subscription cancellation, account closure, and privacy/data deletion are separate lifecycle actions.
Trust boundary: This is manually researched factual account/privacy guidance, not legal advice, not an A✓/CHECKED verification record and not an A✓/CHECKED approval badge. AlreadyChecked does not currently have a proven FlexJobs production affiliate destination, so this page contains no direct merchant affiliate link.
AlreadyChecked Verdict
Do not assume subscription cancellation performs the other two actions. Current Terms preserve Registered User access while an account remains open and say subscription cancellation does not automatically unpublish a resume. Current Privacy Policy separately describes account/personal-data deletion requests and explicitly preserves some retention and third-party-copy limits.
| Goal | Action | Current evidence | What it accomplishes | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Billing Stop renewal | Use the subscription cancellation flow. | Current Terms separate subscription termination from the account remaining open. | Targets future recurring subscription billing. | Cancellation alone does not automatically close the account, unpublish the resume or delete personal data. |
| Account Close profile/account | Use the account-close controls available to the account or contact FlexJobs. | Current FAQ describes setting a paid account to close when the current subscription runs out; Privacy Policy says a closed profile is no longer accessible on FlexJobs. | Targets account/profile availability. | Account closure is not proof that every log, archive, legally retained record or third-party copy is erased. |
| Privacy Request personal-data deletion | Use the deletion options described in the Privacy Policy or email privacy@flexjobs.com. | Current Privacy Policy separately permits deletion requests for the account and/or certain personally identifiable information. | Targets personal-information deletion under the provider's privacy process. | Current policy says logs/archival copies and some closed-account information may be retained and data already accessed by third parties may remain in their systems. |

The key distinction: stopping recurring billing is not the same action as closing the account, and closing the account is not the same thing as guaranteeing that every copy or retained record is erased.
Current FlexJobs Terms say that if you terminate your subscription, you can still use your login credentials as a Registered User to access and view documents uploaded on your Account while the Account remains open.
The Terms also say that cancellation of your subscription will not result in the automatic unpublishing of your resume. So subscription cancellation should not be treated as an automatic privacy cleanup step.
Current FAQ asks “How do I cancel my FlexJobs account?” and says a paid user can go to Account Details → Subscription and set the account to automatically close when your current subscription runs out.
That is useful account-close timing information, but it does not establish that every subscription cancellation immediately closes the account or immediately deletes all personal data.
The current Privacy Policy says that if you close your FlexJobs account, your profile will no longer be accessible on FlexJobs.
The FlexJobs Privacy Policy states it was Last Updated July 18, 2026. It separately says you may ask FlexJobs to delete your account and/or certain personal identifiable Information through options made available on the Site or by emailing privacy@flexjobs.com.
The Privacy Policy says that when account or personally identifiable information is deleted, that data will no longer be available to you or visible to others.
The same Privacy Policy says that if information was previously accessed by others, FlexJobs will not be able to delete the Information from their systems.
It also says FlexJobs retains logs of your Information along with an archival copy after deletion for recordkeeping and internal purposes. The Policy says FlexJobs may also retain information from closed accounts, where permitted by law, for purposes including legal compliance, fraud prevention, investigations, dispute resolution, troubleshooting, and Terms enforcement.
That means a deletion request should not be described as a guarantee that every trace, log, archive, legally retained record, or third-party copy disappears.
Use the subscription cancellation flow. Do not assume that alone closes the account, unpublishes a resume, or deletes data.
Use the account-close controls available to you or contact FlexJobs. Current Privacy Policy says a closed account makes the profile no longer accessible on FlexJobs.
Use the separate deletion options described in the Privacy Policy or contact privacy@flexjobs.com, while accounting for the stated retention and third-party-copy limits.
Verdict: Canceling a FlexJobs subscription should not be treated as the same thing as immediately deleting the account or erasing its data. Current Terms say subscription termination can leave Registered User login/document access while the Account remains open and say cancellation does not automatically unpublish a resume. The FAQ says an account can be set to automatically close when the subscription runs out, while the Privacy Policy separately describes account/data deletion requests and retention limits.
Privacy boundary: A deletion request does not prove total erasure from every system. Current FlexJobs policy says logs/archival copies and certain closed-account information may be retained, and copies already accessed by third parties may remain in those third parties’ systems.
Commercial boundary: This page is non-monetized. AlreadyChecked has not proven project-controlled FlexJobs affiliate approval or a production merchant destination. Internal links are editorial navigation only.
