SolidGigs vs Turing: broad lead discovery or a technical job platform?

Choose SolidGigs when your bottleneck is finding external freelance opportunities and you prefer to control pitching, contracts and payment yourself. Choose Turing when you are software, AI or technical talent who prefer applying to role-specific opportunities with platform vetting and engagement-dependent contract/payment administration.

AlreadyChecked Verdict

No universal winner: choose broad independent lead discovery or a technical role platform with engagement-specific administration.

SolidGigs fits freelancers who want broader external opportunities and downstream independence. Turing fits software, AI and technical talent who prefer applying to role-specific opportunities with platform vetting and contract/payment administration that varies by engagement.

Best for you if… you want technical-role infrastructure and are comfortable verifying each role's assessment, engagement type, contract/payment flow and relationship rules instead of assuming one universal Turing model.

Current-workflow boundary: Turing's current Help Center documents a Jobs page where talent browses and applies to roles/projects. Older blanket marketing such as never needing to apply again should not be read as guaranteed project continuity.

Trust boundary: This is a manually researched editorial comparison. It is not an A✓/CHECKED automated verification record and carries no A✓/CHECKED approval badge. This support page contains no direct merchant affiliate destination.

Current models

SolidGigs

Cost: 14-day free trial, then $35/month or $350/year.

Model: broader multi-source external lead curation for discovering freelance opportunities.

Turing

Access: technical job/project platform for software, AI and related talent.

Workflow: talent browses and applies to roles; role-dependent assessments, interviews, client/Turing review, and platform contract/payment administration can follow.

Application review is not one fixed short window

Turing's current Help Center says application review can take roughly 48 hours to 6 weeks, depending on client feedback and application volume. It also says not every rejected candidate receives a notification. We therefore do not promise a fixed review time, a response to every application, or a positive outcome.

Not every role uses the same vetting sequence

Some Turing roles require assessments or tests before the application can be evaluated, while current Help explicitly says not all positions require them. Some opportunities can also include a live interview with Turing or a vendor partner.

Client-facing top-1% and deep-vetting marketing remains provider-reported positioning—not independent proof of quality, safety, or placement odds.

Developers can set a rate, but the rate is not guaranteed

Current Turing developer pages say talent can set or determine their rate, while Turing may recommend a rate based on market conditions and client demand. That does not mean every requested rate will be accepted, produce a match, or create a guaranteed compensation level. We also do not treat better-than-market-pay marketing as a guaranteed earnings outcome.

Turing does not have one universal engagement model

Current Turing surfaces describe different arrangements. On-Demand Technical Professional client Terms describe independent-contractor sourcing unless otherwise specified. Current developer pages market longer-term/full-time Turing Intelligence engagements, while current role FAQ material also describes temporary AI Consultant contracts that may last up to three months with possible monthly extensions subject to interest, availability and client demand.

We therefore do not describe every Turing role as long-term, full-time, temporary, employment, independent contracting, or governed by one universal duration model. Project continuity and automatic reassignment are not guaranteed.

Turing flow and Deel flow are different

Turing flow

Current Help says service agreements and invoices can live in work.turing.com, with payments processed directly to the talent's bank account and Deel not used for that payment flow.

Deel flow

For engagements using Deel, contracts, payslips and payment history live in Deel and the talent follows that contract/payment workflow.

Because both flows exist, we do not publish one universal Turing payout rail, payslip location, invoice workflow, payment cadence, tax treatment, bank-fee outcome or exact arrival timing for every engagement.

Client-side relationship terms are not freelancer commissions

Turing's current On-Demand Technical Professional Terms include a 24-month non-circumvention restriction around client direct engagement and describe a $50,000 per-person Conversion Fee for an authorized direct engagement under that offering.

Those are client-side relationship/commercial terms. We do not describe the $50,000 Conversion Fee as an ordinary freelancer commission, a standard deduction from normal Turing talent earnings, or permission to bypass Turing's relationship rules.
