Approval boundary: Codementor says mentor applications are generally reviewed in 1–2 weeks, but not all applications are approved. Approval does not guarantee clients, sessions, jobs or earnings.
Trust boundary: This is a manually researched editorial comparison. It is not an A✓/CHECKED automated verification record and carries no A✓/CHECKED approval badge. This support page contains no direct merchant affiliate destination.

Model: hosted technical marketplace for paid 1:1 mentoring, freelance jobs and code reviews.
Mentor cost: current provider help says no separate fee merely for being a Codementor, but the mentor platform fee ranges from 13% to 22% depending on weekly activity.
Prospective Codementor mentors submit an application. Current provider help says review generally takes 1–2 weeks and explicitly says not all applications are approved.
Codementor can also require identity verification through Persona, including a government-issued ID and selfie. That is a provider-controlled identity/compliance process. We do not treat it as an independent AlreadyChecked proof that a mentor is safer, better or guaranteed to attract clients.
Codementor says mentors can set their own rates. Its current help also says the mentor platform fee can range from 13% to 22% depending on weekly activity; the weekly bonus can lower the fee as far as 13% when current conditions are met.
That does not mean every mentor pays 13% every week, and provider-suggested rate examples are not guaranteed earnings. Codementor also charges separate client-side service fees on transactions, which should not be confused with the mentor platform fee.
Codementor's current freelance-job workflow can hold client payment in escrow. When a mentor marks a job complete, the payment normally moves through review and is automatically released after 5 calendar days.
But a user can raise an issue or suspend payment, interrupting that automatic path. Disputes can require supporting evidence and provider involvement. So the escrow workflow is useful infrastructure, but it is not an unconditional five-day payment guarantee.
Current Codementor help says mentor payouts are processed weekly, usually Tuesday night US Pacific time. Current payout options include Direct to Local Bank, Stripe and PayPal, subject to country/account limits.
Actual arrival varies. Codementor currently gives examples such as ACH taking roughly 1–3 business days, PayPal often 1–2 days, and Stripe cross-border payouts potentially taking 4 or more business days. Transfer, withdrawal and currency-conversion fees also vary by method and jurisdiction.
We therefore do not promise Tuesday receipt, one universal payout method, fee-free withdrawal, fee-free FX or one guaranteed net take-home amount.
Codementor's current mentor guidance says mentors should not ask or solicit clients to pay through third-party platforms and warns that this behavior can lead to bans.
We do not recommend bypassing those rules or imply that Codementor's escrow/dispute protections continue when transactions move outside the platform.
You want broader external opportunity discovery across freelance categories and prefer to own the downstream client relationship, contracting and payment process.
You are an approved technical expert who wants paid mentoring or freelance-job infrastructure with platform billing, escrow, disputes and managed payouts.
AlreadyChecked verdict: No universal winner. SolidGigs fits fixed-cost external lead discovery and downstream independence; Codementor fits approved technical experts who want hosted mentoring/freelance transactions and accept platform fees, escrow/dispute rules and provider-managed payouts.
