Local SEO software comparison

Semrush Local vs GeoRanker: which fits your local SEO workflow?

Neither is a universal winner. Semrush Local fits buyers who want a directly per-location local-operations toolkit for GBP automation, map-rank tracking and Pro listing/review workflows. GeoRanker fits buyers whose core job is geo-located rank tracking, HeatMap/competitive analysis, citation-source research and multi-search-engine/API-oriented reporting. GeoRanker's own current and still-live first-party surfaces conflict on Pro credits, Enterprise units, trial wording and the forgotten-trial refund window.

AlreadyChecked Verdict

Choose Semrush Local for direct per-location local operations; consider GeoRanker for geo-located rank, HeatMap and API/reporting workflows—but verify the current Pro credit allowance and trial/refund terms before paying.

Semrush Local has a straightforward per-location model. GeoRanker publishes useful local rank and competitive-analysis capabilities, but its current commercial surfaces and older still-live documentation disagree on quantities and billing terms that can materially affect a purchase.

Best for you if… you compare the exact reports, locations, search engines and API workload you need while preserving GeoRanker's credit/instant-crawl and trial/refund conflicts instead of forcing them into one normalized number.

The GeoRanker conflicts we would verify before paying

1. Pro credits: 10,000 or 5,000?

GeoRanker's current commercial pricing page lists the $99 Pro plan with 10,000 monthly credits. Its still-live pricing documentation says the $99 Professionals plan includes 5,000 monthly credits. We use the current commercial-page number for the buyer-facing snapshot, but we do not pretend every GeoRanker first-party source agrees.

2. Enterprise: monthly credits or instant crawls?

The commercial pricing page shows 120,000 Enterprise monthly credits. Checkout has separately exposed 100,000 Enterprise instant crawls. Because the values and unit labels differ, AlreadyChecked does not state that monthly credits and instant crawls are proven to be the same meter or convert them one-for-one.

3. Trial price: free or $9?

GeoRanker's checkout still presents 7 days free before the selected paid plan, while the current plans search surface also contains wording describing a seven-day trial for $9 USD. Older still-live credit documentation separately says first month free with 1500 credits. Those are three different first-party trial statements. AlreadyChecked does not let the old first-month language override current checkout, and it does not silently convert the new $9 wording into “free.” Verify the exact checkout charge before entering payment details.

4. Forgotten-trial refund: 24 or 48 hours?

GeoRanker's current commercial pricing and product pages say a 24-hour refund policy if you forget to cancel after the trial. GeoRanker's Terms say 48 hours, with the full refund applying only if you did not use credits once the subscription started. The Terms separately say other subscription refund requests may be considered case by case. We would confirm the controlling rule at checkout or with GeoRanker support rather than promise either window.

Credits and instant crawls are not safe to merge

GeoRanker's current pricing page uses the label monthly credits. Its checkout has used instant crawls per month. The Enterprise figures differ, which is direct evidence that those labels should not be treated as automatically identical. GeoRanker also documents report metering based on keywords, locations and search engines, with device type and some report-specific logic. Documentation says unused credits do not roll over. None of those units should be numerically equated with Semrush Map Rank Tracker credits.

What each product is actually centered on

Semrush Local

Semrush Local is a directly per-location local toolkit. Base centers on Google Business Profile automation and Map Rank Tracker. Pro adds Listing Management and review management/generation.

GeoRanker

GeoRanker centers on geo-located Rank Tracker reporting, HeatMap and competitive analysis, keyword research, local citation-source discovery, multiple search engines and API/data extraction paths. Citation-source discovery should not be confused with Semrush Local Pro's Listing Management operation.

Renewal and cancellation

GeoRanker's Terms say subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled and cancellation may be handled through account management or support. Cancellation should not be treated as an automatic refund, account deletion or universal entitlement to unused-period reimbursement.

Historical partner documents are not a current affiliate contract

GeoRanker still hosts old partner-program documentation describing Avangate, up to 30% first-order commission, 10% recurring commission and 120-day tracking. That material is roughly nine years old. Continued accessibility does not prove those terms are a current 2026 program, and it does not prove AlreadyChecked enrollment or tracking custody. There is no project-controlled GeoRanker affiliate destination on this comparison.

Which route fits your actual workflow?

Choose Semrush Local when…

GBP operations, map-rank tracking, listings and reviews inside a directly per-location Semrush workflow are the priority.

Consider GeoRanker when…

Local rank tracking across locations/search engines, HeatMap, citation-source research or API/data workflows are the priority.

Verify checkout when…

Your decision depends on exact Pro credits, Enterprise usage units, trial charge or the forgotten-trial refund window. Current first-party surfaces conflict on all four.

Important limitations

GeoRanker monthly credits, instant crawls, report inputs and Semrush Map Rank Tracker credits are not interchangeable units. Current and historical first-party conflicts remain visible instead of being normalized. Raw limits do not prove data quality, ranking outcomes or business results.
